One Blog, One Diann, One Everwild

So after several frustrating moments with Blogger software last night and some thought, I’ve determined I don’t have what it takes to maintain separate blogs for all the parts of who I am. I’m one person, have a limited supply of attention (for detail), and an even shorter supply of patience for bad programming (blame that on Jon).

I’m certainly enough of a software snob to say that WordPress is without a doubt superior to Blogger. I have more control over this blog, what I import or export, how I organize, and how I manage. It’s easier to maintain and allows proper html code without adding the extraneous clutter like FrontPage (and Blogger) did when I first learned I’m deathly allergic to it.

Being off the beaten path makes Everwild less likely to be included in the many satellite communities. It’s my observation that those who blog on Yahoo tend to stick with other members of Yahoo, and the same goes with Blogger, Typepad, LiveJournal, and even Myspace. Yana doesn’t visit Everwild, but she called last month to say she and Laurel had set up house on Facebook. I cringed, broke into hives, and hunted up my little tin hat. Those guys over there? Yeah, they sell your personal information to space aliens! (Note: While space aliens are debatable, please exercise caution in the amount of information you leave on Facebook; privacy issues, including data mining, are real problems.)

If you would like to keep up with the happenings around here, whether you’re in it for the cool blue unicorns or for news on Fibromyalgia, the simplest way to track this (or any other) blog is to use a news reader and subscribe to Everwild’s RSS feed. Then it comes to you.

Cake.

Since Jon introduced me to it early last year, I’ve used Google Reader to follow other blogs, news, and even classifieds. I’ve since discovered that, because Google owns Blogger, the reader incorporates my Blogger account’s list of “Blogs I’m Following.” Hey … bonus!

Hmmm, are those pancakes I smell?

Just a quick note to let you know that you are correct. It is what I prefer to call “dryer fluff”, that sounds less yucky. When I washed the new flannel sheets, it was so pretty in the fluff trap, that I thought I might use it in a project. I am finding that easier said than done. We’ll see. Thanks for stopping by. Blogger is supposed to update on my page for blogs I visit and it has not been doing that, so I had to do a little catching up on your blog. I was coming to tell you that I just found out that my daughter in-law (my husbands son from another marriage) has Fybromyalgia. She is a nurse, so I had you in mind when she was telling me about it, so I was coming to tell you about cymbalta, only to read your past post to find out it did not work for you. I hope this new med will help. I know it’s to early to tell, but feeling a little better is so good to hear! I was also coming to tell you about a doll sculpting DVD by Wendy Froud( I think I spelled that right) If you are interested in sculpting this is a must have. The best I have seen. I ordered it through amazon. Keep feeling better and I am really praying for you, so keep posting. I am sorry about the weight thing, I am also having some gain because of medication. Female crapola! I am still trying to watch what I eat in the hopes the scale does a jump backwards down the road. LOL
